Asked often.
Everything families ask before they join. Short answers, no fine print.
What is Kinfeed?
Kinfeed is a closed-circle photo feed for your family. You post a photo, and it shows up for the people in your family group. No likes, no comments, no sharing, no algorithm, no ads.
When does Kinfeed launch?
Soon. Kinfeed is coming to the App Store and Google Play, and we will not ship it before it is ready. The articles section is the best place to follow progress.
Is Kinfeed free?
Kinfeed is free during beta, with unlimited family groups and no card required. There will never be ads. Any pricing after beta will be announced well before it applies.
Who can see my photos?
Only the members of the group you post to. There are no public profiles, no search and no discovery. People join a group with a private code that the group owner can rotate at any time.
Can a photo be shared outside the family?
There is no share button, no public link and no export to other apps. What is posted stays inside the family circle.
Why are there no likes or comments?
Likes and comments turn a family feed into a scoreboard. Kinfeed shows the photo, the people in it and the day it was taken. If you want to say something, call them.
What does “posts auto-expire” mean?
Photos drop off the feed after their time. Kinfeed is a window into the everyday, not an archive. Your originals stay on your phone.
Can my grandparents use it?
That is design rule number one. Big buttons, calm interface, nothing hidden behind gestures. If grandma can use it without help, everyone can.
Can I be in more than one family group?
Yes. Unlimited groups: one for the closest, one for the extended family, one for the in-laws. You can post the same photo to several groups at once.
How does it work on the TV?
Cast the family feed to any AirPlay-compatible screen. A slow rotation of the week, no captions, no chrome. A standalone, high-quality digital frame is in the pipeline.
Which phones does it work on?
iPhone (iOS) and Android. Both are coming to the stores soon.
Where is my data stored, and is it GDPR-compliant?
Kinfeed is owned by Jernkvern AS (org. no. 938 506 639), a Norwegian company, and follows GDPR. We collect the minimum needed to run the service and never sell it. The privacy policy has the details.
How do I delete my photos or my account?
You can remove a photo at any time, and delete your account from your profile in the app. Deleting removes your photos from every family feed. Contact us if you need help.
How do I get in touch?
Use the contact page. Two brothers read every message.
